2017 Champoux Merlot

In 2017 we decided that the merlot from Champoux has long been established and that we should recognize that on the bottle. Hence the creation of a full new line-up of single vineyard wines featuring our signature grapes. This vintages blend consists of 100% merlot from Champoux vineyard. This wine was fermented and aged in 15% new French Oak barrels and 85% Neutral French oak barrels because we didn’t want to over power any of the classic Merlot characteristics with too much new oak. 2017 was a solid vintage that allowed for full phenolic ripeness due to a cool second half of September which allowed for extended hangtime with minimal sugar accumulation.
